The gardens cover 28 hectares on the summit of a basalt-capped peak 1000 metres above sea level in the world heritage listed Blue Mountains National Park. The theme of this Garden emphasise cool-climate plants from around the world, especially those from the southern hemisphere.
Displays and natural areas include Temperate Rainforest, Alpine, Heath Woodland Forests and the " Dinosaur Age" Wollemi Pine.
